Description

81 Stories is, unsurprisingly, a collection of 81 stories. They are all stories gathered over a few years, captured immediately after waking up, letting the bizarre dream narratives create themselves from my half-asleep mind. The imagery is generated by an Artificial Intelligence text-to-image service—I tried to illustrate each story by hand but was dissatisfied with the results. I found AI imagery to fit perfectly the eerie and distorted dream narratives.

There is a strange and inarticulable continuity between the incomprehensible space between sleeping and waking and the incomprehensible space between human instruction and machine learning. A sufficiently weird relationship that seems to have tapped into something oddly profound.
