Lately, I’ve been thinking there is a dismissal of the depth of youth. Freshly-found profundity once laudable becomes laughable. But what diminishes the depth, or the value assessment of it? Distance, or distraction, or displacement of the depths by the debris of age? Does distance reveal the vast expanse of deep wells dug by countless individuals? Does the accumulated cruft of time manufacture disinterest?
